Before you book.
The practical things people ring to ask: where to park, what a first visit involves, how pricing works, and what happens if plans change.
Getting here, and parking
The two questions the phone rings about most.
Where do I park?
Metered street parking sits right around the clinic on and near Pyrmont Street, and outside peak hours it is usually the quickest option.
For a longer appointment, the car park at The Star and the Coles car park on the corner of Union and Edward Streets are both a short walk away, and neither depends on a space coming free on the street.
What is the nearest public transport?
The L1 light rail runs the length of Pyrmont. John Street Square and The Star are the closest stops, with Fish Market and Wentworth Park next along.
From the city, crossing Pyrmont Bridge on foot from Darling Harbour is flat the whole way. Buses run along Harris Street, and the ferry stops at Pyrmont Bay.
Is the clinic accessible?
The clinic is in a heritage terrace, so tell us about any access needs when you book and we will explain the entrance and the rooms before you arrive, rather than leaving you to discover them on the day.
What if I am running late?
Ring us. Depending on the day we can often still see you, and if we cannot, it is better to move the appointment than to rush a treatment or keep the person after you waiting.
What the first appointment involves
Nothing is booked or bought before you understand it.
Is the first consultation really complimentary?
Yes. The initial consultation and skin or body assessment carries no cost and no obligation. You can leave with a plan and think about it.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book yourself. If something we see is better handled by your GP or a specialist, we will tell you plainly rather than treat around it.
How long should I allow?
Allow a little longer than the treatment itself for a first visit, because the consultation comes first. When you book, say what time you have and we will tell you honestly what fits it.
What should I bring, or avoid, beforehand?
Bring a list of anything you take, including prescription medication and skincare actives, and tell us about recent treatments elsewhere.
If a particular treatment needs preparation, we tell you at the time of booking rather than on the day.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Many people bring a partner or a friend to a consultation, particularly for a first visit.
How pricing works
Why there is no price list, and when you find out the number.
Why are prices not published?
For most treatments, cost depends on your plan rather than on a menu item, and a course is usually where the value sits.
For prescription-based treatments, Australian advertising rules do not permit publishing prices to the public at all. That restriction applies to every clinic, not only this one.
When will I know what it costs?
In the consultation, itemised, before anything is booked. If a plan is recommended you will see the whole cost of it, not a starting figure.
Is a course better value than a single session?
For most concerns, yes, because change accrues across a considered series. We recommend the smallest plan that suits the goal you came with.
Booking, and changing plans
How do I book?
Ring the clinic, book a consultation online, or send a message and we will call you back. The phone is the quickest, and you will speak to someone who works here.
What are the hours?
Tuesday to Friday, nine to six. Monday and Saturday are by appointment, so ask and we will tell you what is free.
What if I need to change or cancel?
Call as early as you can. Notice lets us offer the time to someone else, and it means your own appointment can usually be moved rather than lost.
Safety, suitability and results
Who oversees the treatments?
The clinic is medically supervised and female led, and has been in Pyrmont since 2003. Your suitability for anything is assessed individually before it is offered.
I take medication, or I have a skin condition. Does that rule me out?
Not necessarily, and it is exactly what the consultation is for. Tell us everything you take, including isotretinoin and antibiotics, and any condition you are managing. Some treatments mean waiting, some mean choosing differently.
Can I be treated while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Some treatments are not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell us when you book, and we will be straightforward about what we can and cannot do.
Why are there no before and after photos on the site?
Australian advertising standards restrict how this imagery can be used for cosmetic and medical treatments.
We hold consented images and share relevant ones privately in consultation, which is also the only setting where a comparison means anything, because the skin next to yours is the one that matters.
What results should I expect?
That is answered for your skin, in person. Any clinic willing to promise you a result before it has looked at you is telling you something about the clinic, not about your skin.
Ask us directly.
The phone is the quickest way to reach the clinic, and you will speak to someone who works here rather than a call centre.
