Concerns it's designed to help
Pale or uneven lip tone
Restoring soft, natural colour to lips that look washed-out, and evening out tone.
Loss of shape & definition
Subtly enhancing the lip border and shape for a fuller-looking, balanced result that suits your face.
Low-maintenance colour
A soft, everyday flush of colour without daily lipstick — handy for busy or active days.
What to expect
We choose a shade and shape with you, mapped to your natural lips and colouring, then build soft colour gradually for a tint-like, blushed finish rather than a hard outline. A perfecting touch-up a few weeks later refines colour and evenness once healed.
- Sessions
- Initial session plus a touch-up about 6 to 8 weeks later
- Downtime
- Colour looks bold then softens over about a week; slight day-one swelling
- Sensation
- Numbing applied; comfortable
Mapped, applied, perfected
An artistry-led process, built up gradually rather than rushed — so the result looks natural and suits you.
- 1
Map
Shape and colour are mapped to your features and skin tone — and approved by you before we begin.
- 2
Apply
Pigment is applied gently and built up gradually, for a soft, natural finish rather than anything harsh.
- 3
Perfect
A perfecting touch-up a few weeks later refines shape and colour once the skin has healed.
What to expect afterwards
Lips are the most dramatic to heal and the most misread at day three. The sequence is predictable.
- Day 1 Lips look swollen and much brighter than the colour agreed. Swelling is normal and usually settles within forty-eight hours.
- Day 2 to 4 Colour darkens and the surface starts to peel. Keep lips moist with what we give you, and leave the flaking alone.
- Day 5 to 7 Peeling finishes and colour can look faint and uneven. This is the stage people ring about. It is not the result.
- Week 3 to 4 Colour returns as the skin settles, softer and more even than it looked on day one.
- The perfecting session About six weeks on, to even out colour and depth once healing is complete.
A general guide — everyone heals a little differently, and your plan is always explained in your consultation.
Outcomes designed to last.
Lips heal from an initially bold colour to a soft, natural tint over about a month, refined at your perfecting visit. Expect the result to last two to three years, softening gently over time.
Before-and-after imagery is shared privately during consultation, with consent, in line with Australian advertising standards.
Treatments that work beautifully together
Best value in a course.
Lip tattooing is priced as a complete service — consultation, design, procedure and the perfecting visit — so there are no surprises along the way.
Frequently asked questions
How long does lip blush last?
It's semi-permanent and typically lasts around two to four years before a refresh, depending on your skin and lifestyle. Lips can fade more unevenly than other areas, which the touch-up addresses.
Does it hurt?
Numbing is applied and most people find it very manageable. Lips are sensitive, so we work gently and check in with you.
What is the healing process?
Colour looks bold initially, then softens noticeably over about a week as the lips heal — the final, natural tone settles over a few weeks. Keeping lips hydrated and not picking protects the result.
How do I pick a colour?
Together — we choose a shade that flatters your natural lip tone and colouring, and you approve it before we begin. We aim for a soft, natural enhancement rather than a lipstick look.
How much does it cost?
Confirmed in your consultation, including the perfecting touch-up.
I get cold sores. Does that matter?
Tell us before you book. Lip tattooing can trigger an outbreak in people who are prone to them, and the usual approach is preventive antiviral medication arranged with your GP or pharmacist beforehand. It is a conversation to have first, not on the day.
Why does the colour fade so much in the first week?
A fresh layer of skin forms over the pigment while it heals, which mutes it. Colour comes back as that layer settles over the following weeks, which is why the perfecting session waits until week six.
